1.  Tell me what you have learned about the ancient arts of the Native peoples of the Woodlands (Archaic, Adena, Hopewell, Mississippian/Ft. Ancient). What are some of the symbols frequently found among these arts and on what types of objects do we find these symbols (give at least three examples)?   What are some of the materials they used and where did they obtain these materials?  Why did the ancestral peoples of the Woodlands build mounds?

2.  Share what you have learned about the Native peoples of the Plains.  How did the Plains peoples' way of life impact their architecture and art?  (Discuss at least four different examples of specific objects to illustrate your essay).  Discuss three different art forms that were made possible by the natural resources provided by the buffalo.  How did the Plains' peoples' spiritual beliefs influence their creative expression?
