You may receive up to 5 points on your homework/class participation grade (depending on the quality of the work).
Please read the article by Ann Landi in the October 2009 issue of Smithsonian entitled "Looking for Leonardo" (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/Looking-for-Leonardo.html).
Write a paper (typed, double spaced, NO MORE THAN TWO PAGES) that analyzes the article and that draws on what you have already learned about Leonardo in class. Your paper must answer the following questions:
What is Gary M. Radke's discovery? What type of evidence does he offer in defense of his theory about the panel made for the Baptistry in Florence and which of his points do you find most convincing? Do you believe his claim? Why would this discovery be so significant?
What other work did we look at in class that may have been a collaboration between Leonardo and Verrocchio? What other work of art did we look at that was made for the Baptistry in Florence?
What was the most interesting thing you read in this article?
