Study Art Abroad!

If you have been waiting for an opportunity to see world art up close and personal, there are wonderful opportunities to do so.  MSU participates in study abroad programs that feature the arts through the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) and the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA).   A number of art history courses are also included in MSU's Minor in International Studies.

On occasion, I offer art history courses in Bregenz, Austria.  Bregenz is centrally located in the foothills of the Alps on Lake Constance. If you would like to know more, check out the Bregenz KIIS Study Program web site.  Here you will find information on courses to be offered, as well as application information.  You can also see photos of Bregenz and e-mail students who were part of the program in previous years (the Kentucky Institute for International studies has offered this study abroad progam with great success since 1975).  Check out photos from our previous trips!

You might also want to explore the Bregenz' Contemporary Art Museum's website, or visit the region virtually through Bregenz' own homepage or Bregenz in Wikipedia.  Bregenz attractions include the Kunsthaus Bregenz, the Pfänder, and the Bregenz Festspielhaus.

If you are interested in the Bregenz program, please e-mail me (j.gritton@morehead-st.edu) and I will be glad to talk with you about your summer in Europe!

Interesting links for travel abroad: Check out train schedules.  You might want to visit the Louvre in Paris, or the Art History Museum in Vienna , or the Modern Art Museum in Munich.   Go to the Artcyclopedia's site for further links to art museums in Europe!
